Puss in Boots : Behind the Scenes : In Rehearsal

So you have seen it on the stage, but this is what it looks like in rehearsal. A huge number of us in the Drama Room at Islesburgh Community Centre, three nights a week!  Some blurred shots here but we were moving fast !

Stanley Manson standing in for the Ogre, Jennie Atkinson (Queen) and Karl Ward (King).

Chris Horrix on piano ready to play and Val Hall keeping us right with our moves.

Doreen Gray who stepped in to play most parts when cast were missing at rehearsal - bless you Doreen!

Props are used as early as possible (Mandy Phillips with the rabbit sack!).

They don't always work .... the slippers were a problem EVERY night for
Queen Wendy (Jennie Atkinson)!

Acting the part ...... our younger members.

Singing duets ......

Falling and fooling around ...... (Martin Summers feet!)

Waiting for our turn ......

No idea what Mandy is thinking !

Oh heavens .... what comes next !

Rehearsal is SO important - it is where we try out characters, learning when we access the stage, fooling around, falling, singing, working as a team .......

We love the Drama Room at Islesburgh it is very much our home and we are indebted to the management of Islesburgh that it is generally available for us to use on a Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday of each week during rehearsal time.
